War Against Malaria; ICS Outsourcing Distributes Mosquito Nets in Makoko

Malaria is a significant public health problem with a high prevalence in Nigeria. As a matter of fact, a report by WHO reveals an estimated 216 million malaria cases and 445,000 deaths and also shows that an estimated 91% of deaths in 2016 were in the WHO African Region. Nevertheless, increased malaria prevention and control measures are dramatically reducing the malaria burden in many places.

A partnership between the Corporate Communications Unit and the ICT Unit of ICS Outsourcing birthed the idea of visiting the people of Erejuwa area of Makoko, Yaba which is characterized by a high risk of Malaria infections. This is as a result of the close proximity of the community to the Lagoon and also the lack of proper sewage or drainage systems

Treated mosquito nets were handed out to families in the community and a brief talk on “How to use the Mosquito Nets” was given to the community.

The Baale of Erejuwa “Chief Samuel A. Adebowale“ was really delighted and showed his appreciation to the company for the kind gesture.
